Note | James Michael Anderson, 60, of Orem returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 25, 2009. He was born in Provo to Allen and Audrey Anderson on October 4, 1949. Michael grew up in Orem and was graduated from Orem High School and Seminary in 1967. He enjoyed many things as a youth including hunting, riding his bike, and sports of all kinds, especially skiing and basketball. Michael was a member of The Chur ch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to the North Carolina/Virginia Mission where he enjoyed great success. One week he baptized a family of six and was honored as one of the top baptizers. He has received letters from peop le he has baptized expressing their joy at becoming a member of the Church. Throughout his life he has been active and had many Church callings. He served as Financial Clerk, Deacons Advisor, Priest Advisor, Sunday School Teacher, Secretary to th e Aaronic Priesthood, Membership Clerk, Executive Secretary, Young Men's Secretary, Scout Leader and Home Teacher. When Michael returned home from his mission, he married Teresa Bodily in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and together had six sons. He wa s graduated from BYU with a degree in Electrical Technology in 1972 and from UTC as a Junior Accountant in 1977. He worked as an accountant for Morris Motors and Purchasing Agent /Accountant for Deseret Industries and Custom-fit Training Programme r Accountant at Utah Valley Community College, he had also been a foreman for Clegg Construction. Michael volunteered his time and received the Governors Silver Bowl Award for outstanding community service and was presented the award by Lieutenant Governor Olene Walker. Michael had a strong testimony that our Heavenly Father lives. He endured to the end as a faithful servant. We Love You Mike. He is survived by six sons: Chris (Debbie), Shawn, Tim, Jason (Rachael), David (Jacquelyn), Daniel, and grandchildren: Ryan, Taylor, Jeffrey, Jake all of Orem; mother, Audrey, Pleasant Grove; four sisters: Debbie (Bruce) Nelson, Tanya (Brad) Carte r, Janet (Chip) Garriss, Val (Steve) Burnett. He is preceded in death by his father James Allen Anderson. FUNERAL SERVICE October 29, 2009 in the Cherry Hill Fifth Ward LDS chapel, Orem. INTERMENT in the Orem City Cemetery. |
